A heart full of Thanks

Yesterday was Thanksgiving so I thought I would blog about what I am thankful this year. This past year has been unbelievable for me and I can’t even begin to fathom all the blessings that I’ve had.
As anyone who reads this knows, that in May, Chris and I welcomed the most incredible little boy into our lives. I never thought something so small could change my life. Speaking of Brody being born, Im beyond thankful to my friends and family for all their love and support thru my pregnancy and these last months with Brody.

I am thankful to my wonderful husband Chris, everyone thinks they have the best husband and of course I think mine is the best. He is such a loving man not only to our family but his heart for God is contagious.
I also want to take a moment to talk about something that I don’t talk about much which is my battle with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. For those of you who don’t know I’ve suffer with this diseases since 2002. Chris and I feel beyond greatful that my RSD has stayed in remission throughout my pregnancy and has only bothered me a couple times since Brody was born. When we started talking about having kids, we really didn’t know how it would affect my health.  There is only one study done of pregnancy in women with RSD and there were only 10 women in the study and it was never completed. With that being said, I truly feel Brody is my little angel from God.

Lastly I just want to say again how blessed I feel for having such wonderful friends and family in my life. Although Chris and I may not say it enough Thank you so much for all the love you give us.

5 months (Thats a whole hand!)

Dear Brody

WOW! Five months, time really is flying by. When I was pregnant everyone warned me that you would grow so quick but I didn’t believe them. I really do feel like I just brought you home from the hospital!

With the Cardinals winning the World Series this month, you have sure spent a lot of time watching baseball. As much you’ve been watching it, football is still your favorite sport to watch on TV. It cracks us up to watch you watch Football. Every Sunday we switch you from Texans to Steelers gear depending on which game were watching.

You haven’t mastered sitting up by yourself yet, but you do a pretty good job if we sit you on a hard surface.

No teeth yet, we feel one under your gums but it hasn’t broken the surface yet. You sure do love to chew on your hands though!

Your favorite toy this month is…… water bottles! We joke that for Christmas you’re going to tell Santa you want a whole case of water bottles.

Although you haven’t said any words yet, Daddy and I are still trying to coax you into saying our names. I always say Mommy, Mommy, Mommy and Daddy is in the background saying Daddy Daddy, Daddy. Daddy is also trying to get you to say Sammy first.  I don’t know whatyour first word will be yet, but I don’t think I’m gonna be a very happy mommy if you say Sammy first!

After criticism from everyone, I finally gave the go ahead to Daddy to try cereal. (Uncle Chris said if I got my way, I would still be giving you “yum yums” (milk) when you were in Kindergarten) We tried it on your 5 month birthday and I must say you didn’t really like it. You may not have like it but I sure did get some priceless photos!

Well it’s been a busy month, but Daddy and I just love watching you smile and loving on you!

As always mommy loves you!
